Academically trained as a painter but discovered ceramics later in life, I’m able to use both skills to create utilitarian pottery for everyday use as well as art pieces. I form most of my pottery on the wheel, (as opposed to slab-building) using food safe glazes, and also create primitive pit-fired and raku pottery for display. Whether intentional or intuitive, my work ranges from simple to intricate, but my objectives are to produce something that is aesthetically pleasing and/or easy to use. Mimosa Pottery is located at my residence and I enjoy showing guests the process involved in creating all types of ceramics.
